WHO aims at strengthening global health security at the human-animal interface. The Global Early Warning System for Major Animal Diseases, including Zoonoses (GLEWS+) is a collaborative platform designed to safeguard global health by detecting and responding to transboundary animal disease threats, particularly zoonotic diseases—those that jump from animals to humans. GLEWS+ is jointly managed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, formerly OIE), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
