Ruei Hoth Gony
Ruei Hoth Gony is a South Sudanese researcher and development expert with over 12 years’ experience in humanitarian operations, including with the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
Ruei is currently the Regional Program Manager for PCEP (Promoting Civic Engagement and Peace) in Jonglei State, a 5-year, USAID-funded peace building program. He also has significant experience in conflict management including with AECOM International, implementing the U.S. Embassy’s Viable Support to Transition and Stability (VISTAS) Program (2013-2019). Ruei has held numerous research positions, including with the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Mercy Corps, and the Danish Refugee Council. Ruei is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), and the founder of Agency for Peace and Development, APD, the only national NGO working on issues related to conservation in South Sudan. Ruei holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management and a Master’s Degree in Project Planning and Management from Bugema University in Uganda.
