Farm Radio International

Farm Radio provides resources and training programs to improve farmers with programs on agriculture and rural development. They also facilitate a community of practice amongst their networks through online exchanges and discussions.

Farm Radio offers a digital solution called Uliza. Swahili for “ask,” Uliza was first developed as a tool for audience polling. It has since evolved into a suite of services that combine radio, mobile phones and, often, interactive voice response systems to enable listeners to communicate and exchange information with their radio station quickly, easily and free of charge. Studies have shown that in places like Tanzania, farmers and pastoralists regularly listen to weather forecasts on the radio and make decisions based on this information.
