Page contents

This catalogue brings together all of SPARC’s published work. It is a resource for donors, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), policy-makers, and anyone seeking to better understand what works – and what does not – at building resilience in the drylands, including some of the most marginalised groups and complex crises.

About SPARC

The Supporting Pastoralism and Agriculture in Recurrent and Protracted Crises (SPARC) programme was commissioned by the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) to provide more meaningful and effective support to pastoralists, agro-pastoralists and farmers living in the context of climate change, protracted crises and ongoing conflicts. SPARC has been funded partially by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) since 2021.

The programme is delivered by a consortium of organisations: Cowater, the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Mercy Corps and ODI Global.
