Mifugo Kash Kash

Mifugo Kash Kash is a commercial trade-based financial product that applies Islamic Finance principles to increase working capital within small-scale livestock traders sourcing animals directly from pastoralist producers. Its host organization, Crescent Takaful Sacco Society Limited (CTS), is a Shariah-compliant saving and credit-cooperative organisation (SACCO) serving north-eastern Kenya.

CTS developed Mifugo Kash Kash as a trade-based financial product to address gaps in pastoral livestock value-chain financing, marketing, and supply management in conjunction with private export abattoir and international NGOs. Sharia-compliant financing is extended to small-scale livestock traders based on supply orders made by the export abattoir.
