Niger is home to 22 million people. Three out of four working Nigeriens are employed in agriculture. The country relies on livestock production, which accounts for 11 per cent of GDP. Livestock is also the second most important export item, making up 70 per cent of agricultural exports. Almost 11 per cent of the country’s population is between the ages of 15 and 19.
