The Smallholders Farmers Rural Radio broadcasts educational radio programmes on crop cultivation, livestock rearing and soil management. Running 10 hours per day in the local Igbo language it aims to inform and educate its 250,000 small-farmer listeners and improve their agricultural, environmental management and market access capacity.
The Smallholders Foundation is a non-governmental organization which promotes sustainable agricultural development and environmental conservation beneficial to rural poor small farmers, through educational radio programs and on field practical demonstrations. The mission of the foundation is to tackle extreme poverty and hunger among rural small farmers in Nigeria by boosting small scale agricultural production.
